Responsibilities

As a Sr. Software Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead multiple software development projects for onboard acoustic systems and onshore support, including managing a small team.
• Develop schedules and milestones, following agile processes to deliver quality on schedule.
• Work in Java and C++, including database development using MariaDB.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to define system requirements and enhance user experience.
• Lead troubleshooting of software and hardware problems and develop solutions for future revisions.
• Address software and hardware obsolescence by recommending new architectures, selecting hardware components, and updating software.
• Perform unit and subsystem testing of changes and upgrades.
• Review baseline change documents for system network and interfaced subsystems, assess impacts, and develop implementation strategies.
• Review cybersecurity documents and tools to ensure compliance with security requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Active Secret Clearance
• At least seven (7) years of professional experience in:
• Software, IT, or Systems Engineer Project Management
• Presentation and briefing with strong communication skills
• Troubleshooting, including networking and performance issues
• Configuration management systems such as Azure Git
