JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the API Q1 or API Q2 Cactus Wellhead Quality Management Systems (QMS) that supports corporate headquarters, manufacturing locations, and the service branch locations. Works directly with the Quality Director, senior management and supporting quality staff to ensure the company utilizes all existing data, the API Q1 or API Q2 QMS, and supporting business applications to drive and implement continual improvement and reduce risk throughout the company. This senior manager operates in either the API Q1 or API Q2 lead management position and oversees a team of Quality Managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following

  • Practice and promote safe work habits and comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs, and regulations.
  • Identify and drive implementation of new processes and procedures to support management of change activities relating to company standard and industry standards API 6A, API Q1, API Q2 and all reference standards to ensure technical and quality compliance with the applicable QMS requirements.
  • Lead management of change activities for the QHSE integrated management system.
  • Lead improvement efforts of company business processes through automation of manual processes using existing company applications Syteline, UniPoint, SharePoint or custom web access applications to eliminate redundancy and human error while driving efficiency.
  • Lead improvement teams and provide reports to senior management on progress of improvement team projects, products, quality, new initiatives.
  • Oversee the API Q1 or API Q2 audit program and participate in the Cactus Wellhead auditing process by conducting branch assessments, QMS internal audits, product audits, vendor audits, process audits, or e-audits.
  • Oversee the Supplier Management Process inclusive of qualification, approval, and evaluation of suppliers, developing purchasing specifications to address the API Supply Chain Management standards.
  • Lead or assist with investigations, corrective action solutions and follow up activities for branch responsible Field Performance Reports (FPR) and the company notification of potential problems through the creation and release of Field Advisories, Toolbox Talks and Quality Alerts.
  • Assist with the review of Industry Standards and API Interpretations and communicating change impact to the organization.
  • Develop and provide training, guidance, and assistance as needed on matters related to the applicable QMS to educate Cactus Wellhead associates.
  • Lead or assist in the development and implementation of Cactus U courses for the Quality department and SSE programs; Lead and maintain branch training programs and manufacturing training programs.
  • Constantly seek and share best practices across the organization; seek out additional process improvement opportunities by leveraging best practices and information from other departments, manufacturing facilities and branch locations.
  • Oversee the Management Review process
  • Monitor the implementation of major Engineering Change actions.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 8-10 years related Quality Manager/Auditor experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Cactus Wellhead Quality Auditor Qualification. Preferred, but not required: ASQ Certified Quality Manager, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Quality Auditor

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Working knowledge of:
  • Quality Management Systems in accordance with API Q1, API Q2, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
  • API 6A product knowledge preferred
  • Oilfield product & services experience preferred
  • Measuring/testing equipment and dimensional inspection preferred
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • API and ISO product requirements, AWS, ASME, ANSI standards/specifications
  • Corrective action & field compliant investigations
  • Specialized (Advanced) computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Syteline, UniPoint, and LMS Systems knowledge preferred
  • Very highly advanced language skills; Highly advanced mathematical skills; Very highly advanced reasoning ability; Advanced coaching and teaching skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise work assignments and training for personnel in areas of QMS, Product Knowledge, and SSE Program.
