High school graduation or its equivalent, plus at least one year of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certification from the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS), including TCIC/NCIC Certifications and Certification on sex offender's registration policy and procedures.
Knowledge of court documents; local, state, and federal laws relating to operation of Sheriff's office; TCIC/NCIC system and procedures; Office policies and procedures; and standard office practices and procedures.
Ability to operate computers; organize and prioritize tasks to be performed; read manuals, letters, and memos; write letters and memos; perform basic mathematical calculations; interpret policies and procedures; analyze information; work independently and make sound judgments; operate office equipment, such as copy machine and facsimile machine; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
