Equix Energy Services is an energy and utilities contractor that provides
high-quality pipeline and facility construction services. At Equix, we support

all of our services, which include: Pipeline Construction, Gas Distribution,
Horizontal Directional Drilling, Facility Construction and Fabrication, and
Trenching services. We have a current opening for a Pipeline Equipment
Operator. The Equipment Operator performs duties as directed by foreman while
operating any or all of the following equipment such as excavators trenchers or
directional bore machines. Operators work with a team to safely install and
replace underground utilities. Duties for an Operator include working in an
outdoor construction setting doing physically demanding work. Operators utilize
various construction equipment and assists craft workers in performing their
assigned duties.
Responsibilities:
Safely and effectively operate all equipment
* Identify potential problems; develop and implement solutions
* Enforce Company policies and standard work procedures
* Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations for the safety of
the crew and the public
* Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment problems
* Interact with customers to explain the work procedures necessary at the
worksite/residence
* Complete project paperwork as required by the customer
* Prepare pre-trip equipment prior to mobilizing to job site and operating
equipment
* Prepare and maintain equipment for safe daily operations including
checking and maintaining fluids and greasing vehicles
* Load material or equipment for transport from show-up yard to job site
and secure as appropriate
* Participate in job hazard analysis on daily basis or as often as
conditions change
* Assist in securing work site, equipment and materials at the end of each
shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials
* Prepare documents, reports or job aids related to work, equipment and
safety as assigned
* Operation of heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, front end
loaders and skidsteers to excavate or move dirt, rock and other materials
* Load or assist with loading materials or equipment
* Comply with operating safety rules and regulations per OSHA safe
practices
* Operates Backhoe for general site preparation, excavation, backfill, and
related assignments
* Performs routine inspection and maintenance on equipment and vehicles
such as checking oil, water, and tires
* Able to perform safe and clean trench excavation and backfill
* Able to set and pull shield shoring in accordance to OSHA safe practices
* Able to interact with foreman, superintendents and governing authorities
to effectively manage project
* May perform laborer duties when required
* Prepare documents, reports, or job aids related to work, equipment, and
safety
* Travel frequently within the area for work assignments
* This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation
(DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or
49 CFR Part 199

Requirements:
* Sit, stand and walk continuously throughout the scheduled workday
* Stand, reach, drive and use fine motor skills frequently throughout the
day
* Regularly bend, kneel, squat and climb throughout the workday
* Must work in a manner that will not jeopardize the health and safety of
him/herself or others
* Must be able to lift and/or move 100 pounds
* Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually,
getting in and out of trucks and/or equipment multiple times during the course
of the day
* Standing, walking including and primarily on uneven surfaces, turning,
stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously
* Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral
vision is required for safety
* Employee will be subjected to outside weather conditions, moving
mechanical parts
* Employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne
particles, extreme heat and risk of electric shock and vibration
* Must be able to work in loud work environments
* The employee is frequently exposed to slow- or fast-moving traffic in
the work environment
