Job Description
Position Title: Electrical Supervisor
Location: Midland, Texas or Wink, Texas
Reports To: Vice President Operations
Position Summary
The Manager, Electrical Systems is a technical leadership role responsible for overseeing field and plant electrical design, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. This role provides guidance and supervision to electricians and electrical technicians, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure across operational sites. The position is based out of Midland, Texas and reports to the Vice President of Operations.
- Serve as liaison between Operations leadership and field electrical teams.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of electricians and electrical technicians to ensure safe and effective execution of work.
- Provide technical support for electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and design improvements across field and plant locations.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
- Support training and development of field electrical personnel to maintain high standards of technical competency.
- Collaborate with Asset Integrity & Reliability teams to ensure electrical systems support operational reliability goals.
- Review electrical system performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and enhance safety.
- Assist in monthly operational and financial reviews, providing input on electrical-related expenses and project scopes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems, maintenance activities, and design changes.
- Ensure work sites and personnel comply with company and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of electrical SOPs.
- Be available for on-call support for field emergencies and troubleshooting needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design, maintenance, and troubleshooting in industrial or field environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
- Experience with field electrical systems including MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and motor controls.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience supervising or mentoring electricians or electrical technicians.
- Experience with electrical reliability programs and maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo).
- Familiarity with industrial power distribution and protective relaying.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to drive and sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Required to respond to field emergencies and be on call as needed.
- Exposure to outdoor elements and industrial environments including noise, chemicals, and weather extremes.
- Use of personal protective equipment required.
- Combination of office-based work and regular field visits.
