Overview

This position is focused on patient and guest check in while providing an excellent guest service experience at the point of entry. The Guest Assistant will greet all guests entering the facility with a welcoming and positive demeanor. If the guest is a patient, they will confirm the scheduled appointment, provide registration onboarding, and escort to the proper hospital destination. The Assistant will welcome visitors and validate patient name and room number to ensure proper visitor management and communicate visitor guidelines. They will respond to immediate needs within their capability or obtain appropriate assistance for needs outside of their scope of service. The Assistant should be aware of the location of all departments and general operations of the hospital so that knowledgeable answers are given to guests in a timely manner. The Assistant must exhibit a professional demeanor, including eye contact, smiling, and greeting guests as they enter the building. The Assistant should demonstrate active listening and adaptability to guest needs and must wear a uniform and maintain good grooming at all times.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Part Time; Weekends Saturday and Sunday 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Essential Functions and Performance Expectations

  • Timely reporting for your shift to ensure proper coverage for patients/guest assistance
  • Provide an optimal guest experience at entry by greeting every guest/patient entering the hospital
  • Assist with mobility by providing wheelchair support to patients/guests who require it
  • Understand schedules and appropriate destinations for patients
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy with schedules
  • Complete proper check-in for all patients/guests
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with every colleague and guest
  • Utilize software programs necessary for job duties (Visitor Management system; Registration Onboarding system; Incident Reporting system, ISO reporting; work order system and EHR)


Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, use hands to operate equipment, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 25 lbs. The individual must have the ability to pull, push, lift and manipulate equipment.
